These are public proxies we found on the open internet. ProxyWing doesn't run them and doesn't know who does. Whoever owns a proxy can read and change unencrypted traffic, and the proxy can disappear at any moment. Don't send logins, payment details or personal data through them. The list is provided as is, without any warranty. Why free proxies are risky →

How to pick the best free proxy and use it

Works the same in Chrome, Proxifier, a Python script or AdsPower.

  1. 01

    Filter and pick

Start with the Fast & stable preset or filter by protocol and country. Anything above 90% uptime and under 500 ms is a reasonable pick.

    Go to the list
  2. 02

    Convert the format

Choose ip:port or protocol://ip:port and copy. If your antidetect browser wants host:port:user:pass, run the list through the formatter.

  3. 03

Test before you rely on it

A proxy that worked five minutes ago may be dead now. Run your picks through the Proxy Tester just before you use them.

Why free proxies are a bad idea for real work

The list is handy for quick tests. For anything else, keep in mind who's on the other end of the connection.

When free proxies aren't enough

Four kinds of private proxies, each suited to a different job. Every plan includes login authentication and 24/7 support.

Free HTTP and SOCKS5 proxies explained

What the Protocol and Anonymity columns in the list mean.

HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS protocols

HTTP
Works with browsers and most tools for plain web traffic. The proxy can see and change everything you send.
HTTPS
HTTP proxy that supports CONNECT tunnelling, so HTTPS sites stay encrypted end to end. The proxy still sees which domain you visit. Configure it as http://ip:port.
SOCKS4
A plain TCP proxy without authentication or UDP. Proxifier and most scrapers support it.
SOCKS5
Handles both TCP and UDP and resolves DNS on the proxy side. Pick it for apps and antidetect browsers.

Anonymity levels

Elite
Doesn't pass your IP and doesn't reveal that a proxy is being used. The target sees an ordinary visitor.
Anonymous
Hides your IP but adds headers like Via, so the target can tell you're behind a proxy.
Transparent
Passes your real IP in X-Forwarded-For. Only useful for seeing how a site looks from another country.
How we check
We send a request through each proxy to our own test server every 5 minutes and record the response time and the headers that reached us.

Free proxy list API

The API returns the same data as the table: a TXT file with one proxy per line, CSV or JSON. You don't need a key. Set the filters above and click API for a ready URL, or build one from the parameters below.

No API key. 60 requests per minute per IP. The list changes once per check (every 5 minutes), so polling more often returns the same data.

Frequently asked questions

Didn't find an answer? Ask support. Real people reply in about a minute.

A free proxy list is a collection of public proxy servers (IP address and port) that anyone can connect to without paying or logging in. ProxyWing collects them from open sources and keeps re-checking them. Only proxies that passed the latest check are listed.
Pick them from the list above: filter by protocol and country, then copy the proxies or download them as a TXT file. If a script needs a fresh list every few minutes, fetch it from the free API instead of copying by hand. Run a proxy through the Proxy Tester before you rely on it.
We check every proxy every 5 minutes. New proxies show up after their first successful check, and ones that fail several checks in a row are dropped. The Checked column shows the time of the last successful check, and Uptime shows how often the proxy answered over the past 7 days.
Not for anything important. Whoever runs a public proxy can see your unencrypted traffic and change it. Stick to HTTPS sites and never send passwords or payment details through one. When it matters, use a private proxy with a login, such as ProxyWing Residential.
Public proxies drop off or get blocked all the time, and one that passed our check two minutes ago may already be dead. Sort by Recently checked, prefer uptime above 90%, and test your picks in the Proxy Tester just before use. Also check that your app uses the same protocol as the list: a SOCKS5 proxy won't work if the app expects HTTP.
HTTP proxies handle web traffic only. HTTPS proxies can also tunnel encrypted connections. SOCKS4 works with any TCP traffic, and SOCKS5 adds UDP, IPv6 and authentication. For a browser or a scraper, HTTP(S) is enough. Apps, games and antidetect browsers usually need SOCKS5.
Elite proxies hide both your IP and the fact that you use a proxy. Anonymous ones hide your IP but reveal the proxy in the headers. Transparent proxies send your real IP to the site. We detect the level by checking which headers reach our test server.
Yes. Call https://proxywing.com/api/free-proxy-list?format=txt and add protocol, country, anonymity, max_latency or min_uptime to filter. You don't need a key, and the limit is 60 requests per minute. The API button above the table gives you a ready URL for your current filters.
Only for small tests. Everyone scraping with this list shares the same IPs, so large sites answer with CAPTCHAs or blocks, and proxies drop in the middle of a job. For regular scraping, rotating residential proxies work far better, and datacenter proxies are the fast, cheap option.
Technically yes, any SOCKS5 or HTTP proxy will work in an antidetect browser. But a public IP is usually flagged already, and if it dies mid-session the account can get locked. For multi-accounting, use mobile or ISP proxies, or residential with sticky sessions.
It depends on the job. For scraping and SEO, residential proxies (from $1.00/GB) are the usual choice because they look like ordinary home users. If you need speed and volume and the target sites aren't strict, datacenter proxies (from $0.87/IP) cost less and come with unlimited traffic. Accounts and online stores work best on ISP proxies (from $1.71/IP), since you keep the same IP. On social networks, mobile proxies (from $4.00/day) get blocked the least. If you're unsure, ask support.
A web proxy is a website where you type an address and the page opens through someone else's server, with nothing to set up. This page is different: it lists proxy servers that you add to a browser, an app or a script yourself. A web proxy is fine for opening a blocked page once, but it won't work for apps and usually shows ads.
No. A proxy only reroutes the browser or app you set it up in, and a free public proxy doesn't encrypt anything. A VPN sends all traffic from your device through an encrypted tunnel. If privacy is the goal, use a VPN such as WingVPN. If you need IPs for scraping or for running several accounts, use proxies.
They come from open proxy lists published on the internet. ProxyWing doesn't run them and can't vouch for whoever does; we only check that they respond and publish the results.
A free proxy is usually a random server shared with everyone. A residential proxy is an IP from a real home internet connection that only you use during your session. Sites treat residential IPs like regular visitors, so you get far fewer blocks.
