The agency sells flights and package holidays departing from Larnaca and Paphos and re-checks about 5,300 fares a day on airline and booking sites to keep its own offers current. Its fare checker ran on cloud servers in Germany, and many sites choose the country version by the visitor's IP, so it recorded the German version, with other fares, baggage rules and promotions than a customer in Cyprus is offered. Agents in the Limassol and Nicosia offices re-checked about 85 quotes a day by hand before sending them, and some customers still received a price that was gone at booking.

Solution

Every week the firm built a shelf-price panel for food brands: 3,800 products on the online shops of Colruyt, Delhaize, Carrefour and 2 other chains, each checked for 8 stores chosen by postcode, about 152,000 price points per run in Dutch and French. Its crawler worked from a hosting range in Amsterdam, and the shops replaced the requested store with a default one, or answered with a block page or a CAPTCHA. Analysts re-checked about 1,150 rows by hand each week, and two clients disputed promo prices that no shopper in Antwerp or Liège had seen.

Solution

Task

The platform's SEO team tracked 1,400 keywords in Catalan, Spanish and French for its hotel and ski-pass pages around Grandvalira and Pal Arinsal and needed google.ad positions as a user in Andorra la Vella sees them. The rank tracker had no Andorran exit points, so queries left through Spain or France and came back with google.es or google.fr results and a local pack of businesses across the border. Each weekly report was re-checked by hand from the office connection, and winter-season pages were prioritized on positions that local users never saw.

Solution

ProxyWing residential proxies give the tracker exit points on Andorra Telecom subscriber lines, so Google resolves each query to Andorra and returns the Andorran local pack instead of the Spanish or French one. Rotation assigns a new IP to every query, which keeps the request rate per address low enough to avoid CAPTCHAs. The retailer re-priced 24,000 SKUs every night against Geizhals.at, MediaMarkt.at and 29 other Austrian price sources, about 310,000 requests per run. Its crawler worked from a hosting range in Frankfurt: several shops blocked hosting IPs outright or served CAPTCHAs, and shops with a joint German-Austrian storefront defaulted to German prices with 19% VAT instead of the Austrian 20%. Pricing managers fixed about 400 mismatched rows by hand each morning, and part of the catalogue went live with the previous day's prices.

Solution

The agency ran display and video campaigns for banking and retail advertisers and had to confirm each placement on Albanian news sites such as Top Channel, Balkanweb and Panorama, about 900 checks a day. From its single office IP the ad servers hit frequency caps after a few page loads and returned house ads or empty slots, and campaigns geo-targeted to Durrës and Vlorë did not show up at all. Account managers collected screenshots from publishers by hand, and two advertisers disputed their monthly invoices.
